An Exhibition Design Project
LEE²DESIGN served as the designer for the Boundless exhibition at the Mead Art Museum at Amherst College, which ran from August 29, 2023 to January 7, 2024. The exhibition featured work by Native American artists and writers, mainly from the Northeast but also beyond. The objects on display spanned from the eighteenth century to the present day and were selected by guest curator Heid E. Erdrich to explore the relationship that Native American tribes had with the concept of ‘place.’ The way that land and bodies of water fundamentally shaped the identity of indigenous tribes across geography and generation is highlighted by the paintings, sculptures, historical texts, and basketry in the exhibition, expanding conversations about indigenous kinship, presence, resistance, and history. The second stage of this exhibition will run from February 27, 2024 to July 7, 2024.
