LEE²DESIGN designed the installation hardware of a 16-piece, 542 pound hanging art mobile above the Harvard Art Museums courtyard. The sculpture, called Triangle Constellation, was created by Mexican-born artist Carlos Amorales and was commissioned by the Museums to activate the historic Calderwood courtyard space beneath the overarching glass skylight. Because this skylight, called Light Machine, was configured to unite the three previously separate museums and bring natural light into the heart of the courtyard, LEE²DESIGN installed the hanging hardware to seamlessly integrate with the Light Machine’s structural elements so that the sculpture would not block the galleries and instead highlight the visual connection between the Museums' various wings.
