Feasting with Gods, Heroes and Kings

An Exhibition Design Project

LEE²DESIGN led the design of an exhibition called Animal-Shaped Vessels from the Ancient World: Feasting with Gods, Heroes, and Kings at the Harvard Art Museums, which ran from September 7, 2018 to January 6, 2019. This exhibition showcased over 60 elaborate vessels of animal form from collections across the United States and Europe, including pieces from the Louvre, the British Museum, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in addition to the Museums’ own collection. These containers offered rich insights into the relationship between symbolism and ritual in communal practice. Working with the curator, LEE²DESIGN organized the display of the vessels to emphasize the cross-cultural and cross-disciplinary backgrounds of each piece, demonstrating to visitors how these visual concepts were exchanged historically across time and place.
