Analog Culture: Printer’s Proofs from the Schneider/Erdman Photography Lab

An Exhibition Design Project

LEE²DESIGN was the exhibition designer for Analog Culture: Printer’s Proofs from the Schneider/Erdman Photography Lab, 1981-2001 at the Harvard Art Museums, which ran from May 19, 2018 to August 12, 2018. The aim of the exhibition was to explore the relationship between photographer and printer through the lens of the Museum’s Schneider/Erdman Printer’s Proof Collection, a series of 450 photographs by a wide array of photographers printed over the past thirty years by famous printer Gary Schneider. The close examination of the techniques and methods of darkroom photography offered visitors an invaluable look into the way that collaboration can shape and reinvent an art form.
